Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror - Remastered is the second point and click in the classic series, now polished up for iOS devices.
Using the same excellent touchscreen controls as the first iOS game, Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror is really well adapted for both the smaller and iPad size screen. Again, the graphics have been polished up, with new animated sequences added to the action. The sound and graphics are wonderful, making it another extremely atmospheric and engrossing adventure.
This entry in the series sees George Stobbart back in Paris with Nico, and thrown into a Mayan-themed adventure. Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror is a bit more linear than the first game, but that actually makes the game less frustrating, as there are less ways to waste your time when you're stuck! The excellent hint system has been retained by developers Revolution, meaning help is always at hand if you really get lost.
The only criticisms of Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror are to do with the point and click genre overall. If you're not used to it, the game can feel slow compared to modern action adventures. However, like the original it serves as a great introduction to point and click adventures.
